Yeah, I think the want for a minority female as mayor was a big driver.

I loved living in New Orleans, but I would never go back, at least not now or in the future that I can see. Mitch and Latoya have sucked it nearly dry of what it once was. Latoya is icing the cake.

I moved to old Metairie from uptown. I loved uptown, but I can’t see going back. The services and taxes here are so much better. Top it off with people like latoya making the decisions and I don’t see it happening as sad as it is.

The absolute best thing that can happen to Orleans Parish is for it to declare for bankruptcy reorganization. It truly hed itself of all its outstanding debts and pensions but this Mayor will just call for more property tax increases.

Yep...the property value agrees. There is nice little 2,200 brick slab going for 800k at the moment on not even a nice street in old metairie.

Latoya has helped a real estate boom here.

shite, I live by Cleary and W. Metairie, and prices in my neighborhood have skyrocketed.

This is the default mindset of the Democratic Party of Louisiana, ladies and gentlemen. At every level and every official.

The more important question is who would want to run against her?

What about Sydney Torres? There were those pushing for him to 3 years ago. He could easily spin his flipping to campaign lingo.

That area will be the next to see houses getting torn down in masses. old metairie has become outrageous. Bucktown too to a degree. People want big homes and close proximity to the city and that area has some big lots on Cypress, etc.

I don't disagree. But seeing people turn against her, when 9 months ago people were clamoring to defend her, surely shows that she's not as popular as she once was.

If Lakeview residents were the only ones in the city allowed to vote he may be able to beat out Satan himself for next mayor. He’s pretty disliked in the city.

I think Charbonnet or maybe Moreno would be your best bet beating da destroya

Its already started. Just on my street, within the past 2 years, 3 houses have been purchased, torn down, and rebuilt. Walking my dog, I've see at least 10 other properties in the neighborhood do the same.

Is there a country on Earth that is run by blacks that is successful, and not a shithole?

We counting the dumbass who sent the city’s cannons to the Confederate army, resulting in a Union naval invasion of the city?

Yeah, still probably the worst.

Dumbass bitch doesn’t even understand that failing businesses will kill tax revenue. Of course her mindset would just consider raising taxes elsewhere and finish running off everyone else.
