Any place but NOLA and I would agree but we have one of the stupidest voting bases of anywhere. She ran on a SJW/Anti-Gentrification platform last time and it worked.

Just got to twitter where she gets a ton of "YES QUEEN" and "THANKS FOR KEEPING US SAFE."

People are dumb.

The only difference this time is she will not have anywhere near the level of local financial support

The only people I hear saying this are people not from New Orleans. Now will the other candidates be any better chances are slim. The Destroya will struggle to get re-elected.

It still comes down to who runs against her. A decent candidate will beat her, but an unknown will struggle.

They aren’t governed by Destroya. That’s one. The crime is no where near that if NOLA. That’s two

I'm 10 minutes from downtown... And get the benefits of Jefferson Parish...

My house appraised 30% higher than we bought it 10 years ago and our bi-monthly water bill is usually about $140 cheaper than all of our friend's monthly water bills who live in Lakeview...

But yeah, zero redeeming qualities...

Except even if you live in JP you still spend a large amount of time in Orleans presumably.
exactly the point. How could it get any better than being able to enjoy all the benefits of New Orleans while not having to be completely subject to their inept leadership? JP surrounds Nola on the east and West Bank. You can live 5-10 minutes away from the CBD/Warehouse District/FQ/Uptown by being in Metairie or Gretna and not have to live under Destroya’s rule

I assumed Charbonnet would run again. It couldn't possibly get any worse than Latoya.

Certainly not true. She still has a base that defends her on all issues.

Didn't realize the federal government was the one forcing Orleans Parish to continue being more restrictive than what the state is requiring or than what neighboring parishes are doing.

It's why I have lived in Old Metairie my entire life. I get the best of both worlds. I am closer to downtown, uptown, and mid city than I am to much of New Metairie.

Only reasons I ever go to new metairie areas is for a big box store or some ethnic food.

Latoya will likely be reelected. incumbents always win in NOLA, especially for mayor.

If that is how her attitude really is and I kinda don't doubt that it is then frick her and her supporters. All of the business owner should pack up and get the frick out of there. Let that city drown in their own stupidity.

I don't think you know what "zero chance" means or how odds work.

I know the money will be coming in on whomever runs against her. I think she will have a hard time.

But I also know many people in her base who fricking love her. it will be close.

I agree but it won't take much to beat her, she isn't an entrenched political figure. Then again who worth their salt wants to be mayor of New Orleans.
