The argument over the years is that it is harmless.
The argument has been “it’s better than taking opioids for those with pain”
Or
“It’s better than getting drunk for those that want a release”
Or
“It’s better than taking Xanax for those with anxiety”

We got ourselves a doper, boys.
I drink and don’t consume marijuana; alcohol is vastly more harmful and destructive than marijuana, and I’m not sure how any rational person could argue otherwise.

People want to use weed and kill their bodies (same with alcohol), by all means do it, but like for both, you should have less health insurance coverage based on the voluntary excessive usage.
Others should not have to pay for your recreational drug choices.
Further, alcohol doesn’t directly affect others like weed does when smoked around people. Eat your edibles all you want but smoking weed in public and in multi family housing spaces should be illegal.

AS far as it being addicting, I have smoked heavy for most of 30 years. Stopped multiple times with no problem. Not smoking currently as I am in a safety sensitive job, but it has no negative effect on me. I either smoke or I don't. Simple as that.
That's another thing that studies overlook.

The argument has always been either
1. What about all that stuff that is worse?
2. It is harmless.
Don’t even try to act like the “legalization” proponents are spouting off the negatives.
Any time someone even attempts to point of the negatives, the study or statements are condemned by supporters.

I think they legalized it to keep people high and happy or drowsy so that they can do as they wish with no care.
The majority of people who take it legally were already using it illegally, but the government controls what it wants to control. If they really wanted to crack down on the drug problem they could. Just like how they took down the Italian mafia.. when they wanted to.

I have never realistically seen the argument “it’s harmless”. I have always seen the argument “it’s less harmful than its alternatives that are legal”
Which I have never seen refuted. People like yourself setup a false strawman to attack

Are you under the impression that is legal, even where weed is?

Smoking is illegal even in most places where weed is legal. People are still breaking the law doing so in public places

Now do Alcohol

First off, plenty of people smoke in multifamily spaces and don’t give a shite about others. Second, public smoking happens all the time, especially in places it’s legalized. You can’t mistake the tank smell of that shite.
According to you it is against the law somehow but never enforced, and if it was, those same people would be bitching about how it is “harmless”

Yeah its also been pushed as a modern snake oil that cures all ailments.
I've used some nightly for years (since chemo) and if I dont use it, I dont sleep, and my anxiety peaks.
I've always know the big lie, but it still should be in the legal market.

If Marijuana isn't harmless, why are potheads so trashy?
Or is that a chicken and egg situation....do only trashy people smoke weed, or does smoking weed make you trashy?
