A dude with sound experience said in the Reddit thread that in an outdoor venue with screaming fans you have to have an ear piece or really loud monitors or you can't hear the music and it's almost impossible to perform. She had neither.

That's a pathetic lame excuse. If you're a singer and performer you should have the rhythm and lyrics down like the back of your hand.

Because, like the rest of the pop singer who don't write their own lyrics and often lip sync and generally suck when it comes to being an actual musician, she doesn't know how to perform without a ton of help.

Ok, that's enough out of you pretending to know what you're taking about baw. The sound is being directed away from her and therefore she has no idea what is being played. Hence, the ear piece.

If this was just her missing an earpiece to hear herself singing people wouldn't care. It's more Mariah Carey being regarded as some masterful singer, and it being exposed she lip syncs. She may have been good at one point, but she's way past her prime. Even if she had her earpiece, she wouldn't be singing, it would be the voice track. The earpiece would be there just to let her know when to move her mouth. I have no sympathy for her, she got exposed.
