I can't figure out why they didn't just stop and fix the issue. I also can't believe that they didn't have a pre-planned contingency for this situation. The stage manager should be looking for a job this morning.

So singing with a background vocal track is lip-syncing?

That's not what that's supposed to sound like. Yes, there were vocals to help her, but she wasn't "lip-syncing".

She didn't sign what she was supposed to sing. She sang two words and was walking around stage looking lost.

It's pretty clear she was lip syncing the first song if you watch the video above. You can then see the dancer trying to help with what I'm guessing is her ear piece. She also sang the correct line at one point in the middle of the song, so she could hear something.

And you would be completely wrong, all three have been using in ear monitors for years, Geddy (not Getty)back to the early 90s.

For the Clockwork Angels sessions, an Orange 4x10 cabinet was mic’d in place of the second Palmer and RockCrusher used on the road, but McIntosh says that, on the current tour, Lee isn’t using speaker cabinets in his bass rig. Further, the band isn’t using any monitors onstage other than the subs that augment the Logitech Ultimate Ears in-ear monitors they all wear.

Brent Carpenter: All three band members are on Ultimate Ears UE-7 Pros. I find that the isolation that I get from the UEs, the way they are manufactured and the materials they use are really far superior to the other major personal ear monitor companies. There may be someone else out there, but I haven’t found another company that does a better job.

I saw the whole thing live and watched it replayed.
If there were serious technical difficulties that wouldn't allow her to hear what she was supposed to singing and/or lip-syncing then I thought she handled it with relative grace and good-humor.
When it was finally over she did just walk off but I can only imagine just how embarrassing that must have been.
She didn't appear to be intoxicated in any way although to be wearing that outfit and being that "chunky" would seem to require being in an altered state of consciousness.
