There are stretches in West Texas where there aren’t gas stations or stop lights for 100+ miles.
That's okay. You just do 120-130 miles an hour to get there quicker and make sure you don't run out of gas.

Is there a map that shows us how much better LucasP was than you?

"halfway to Los Angeles" is pretty accurate.
I've driven from Houston to LA and back a few times and crossing into/out of Texas is pretty damn close to the halfway point.

Never been to Texas.. but been all up and down the East coast and out to LA/Vegas a couple times. Actually I've never been to the middle of the country at all. Furthest West I've been that was East of the Mississippi was Tunica Resorts, MS (
) which is where my buddy and I stayed for the Ole Miss trip last year.

Fun fact:
It takes longer to drive from Key West, FL to Pensacola, FL than it takes to drive across the full length of Texas

We should divide Alaska in half and then Texas would be the 3rd largest state.
Referring to our tides...
"Alaska is 2.5x the size of Texas, 3x when the tide goes out"
Silly generalization/tourist joke
