Death penalty was conveyed to life.
Then that conviction was thrown out for a retrial where she got 7 years to life. Eligible for parole every 2 years.

They were, but after they were sentenced, California abolished the Death Penalty and commuted all Death Row Inmate's sentences to Life in Prison.
And the stupid thing is, now that the original sentence was commuted to life, the death penalty can't be reinstated even though California did just that in 2016 when they reinstated the Death Penalty.
