Don't be so sure. I've known a very well to do woman get tied up with exactly this type of character.
I also went to HS with an all American type girl. Cheerleader, very sweet, never knew an enemy type. Ended up in a gang (yes, in Baton Rouge) at 21, doing gang things.

As a general rule, the presence of a Racetrac means the area is either a shithole or will be soon due to the element that congregates there. And there is now a Racetrac in the parking lot of the shopping center where Quarters is.

Katrina caused cancer to metastasize in BR.
It used to be limited to NBR and a few other areas. It spread everywhere when all housing was filled overnight.

I rolled the dice and went to that Racetrac on Sherwood at like 10pm about a month ago. There was one other white guy in there with me. We kind of nodded at each other in a show of solidarity. Other than 2 white guys being in there I could have been in a store at Plank and Evangeline

Hoodrat violence and killings among hoodrats doesn’t faze a lot of people for a city as violent as Baton Rouge. It’s when that shite makes its way into the nicer parts of town is what poses a serious problem, in which it can’t be stopped from spreading.
