It may make me look like a coward but honestly, nowadays, if I see something going down near me, I'm walking away. I hate to admit that but people are legitimately crazy now and you just never know what's going to happen if you get involved. Unless it's someone I know personally, I'm walking away and calling the cops.

Years ago, the college student living across from me was fighting another kid in his driveway in the middle of the night. It woke us up. We're watching through the window as they're both throwing hands and then it progressed to him kicking the guy in the head while on the ground. I felt terrible just sitting there and not going to break it up but I didn't know if he had a weapon on him that I couldn't see so I stayed put and called the cops at that point. frick that, man. I've got a wife and kids and I'm not about to put myself in a situation where I'm risking ruining the rest of their lives just to be the hero.

Probably because the article was written to celebrate the guy who died then to bring attention to the POS who killed him

Domestic disputes will get you killed quicker than anything else, thus why cops hate them.

I recently had a somewhat distant relative involved in a domestic issue where the cops were called to the home. The mother of one of the people involved, who is naïve and can be a Karen, was shocked, and somewhat angry that the cops arrived full bore with guns drawn and a very serious tone. I told her cops don't F around with domestic situations because they know that's the most likely scenario that gets them killed, so she needed to curb her attitude about their demeanor.

Yup, in my younger years, no family, I would step in possibly. Now, no way.

I just don’t get what makes people like this so aggressive. I remember being a hot head 19 year old, but to kill someone? What is going on up there.

This is why cops hate domestic calls more than any other type of 911 call.

And, of course, the liberals/Democrats want to defund the police and send in social workers on calls like this. And they can’t understand why we think they’re completely f*cking deranged.

Yup, and often the abused comes to the aid of the abuser and now you’re fighting both.

Church Hill is where the famous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech was made.

I guess they were all sold out of liberty when this dude showed up.

Moral of the story: Don’t get involved in fights that don’t concern you.

Bingo!
I will only step in if it is children fighting. From the teens on up the fighters get to live with the consequences of fighting whether that be death or injury, they made a choice to fight.

Eh, what if they’re fighting someone who isn’t fighting back?

Yep. Very good friend of mine retired from the force (and SWAT) and said he would rather go to an armed B&E/burglary call than a domestic disturbance.

That’s not a fight, that’s an assault or attempted murder.

I am not about to risk my life and limb to get involved with animals going wild. Leave that to the social workers and morticians.

doesnt make you a coward. Most us arent trained to deescalate situations. Will probably just make things worse. You cant predict peoples level of crazy.
