According to police, Jason Laday, 34 of Opelousas fired one shot that killed former U.S. Marine Harrison Bordenave. Charlotte Bordenave says she was at her son’s side when Laday pulled the trigger shooting him once in the chest.

I understand her frustration and I’m sorry for her loss, but how is this the city of Opelousas fault?
It's here in the 2nd paragraph:
quote:
Bordenave said her son had previously been threatened at the same gym by the suspect. She said she attempted to bring surveillance video to the police to press charges, but no action was taken.

Charged with 2nd degree, not likely.

Interesting, she wants the city to "pay her". Sorry for your loss, but where is Opelousas going to get that money? Opelousas is turning into a third world shithole as we speak.

Leday, a convicted felon, is now back in custody on second-degree murder charges and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

WTF would make someone murder an unarmed person in public, in front of their mother? It’s so fricking senseless.

I get that she is likely traumatized by the event and upset but her statement is pretty wild. She wanted to PD to act as her personal force and then she now wants to "own them". Tragic.

Hang him.

Confused. What would this be first degree? Oh dang, did they change the penalty for second degree? You are right. No death penalty.

Shocker.
At some point, even idiot democrats in office have to realize that letting dangerous people continue on the streets is a recipe for more crime. I hope.

I want their badges. I want the city to pay me. Then you know what? I’m going to come back on camera and burn the money because it’s not going to bring my baby back. I’m going to own them, and you can print that. I’m going to own them. My boy was a good boy, trying to get his mama back in the gym. Our last conversation he said, ‘mom I’m so proud of you.'”

I think it's pretty apparent for everyone. They won't crack down on crime because of the "harm" it would do to their "communities". Family wouldn't see cousin RayRAy at the cookouts because he's doing serious time for car jacking with a stolen weapon. More "fatherless homes".
What they don't get is that everyone, even their own families, would be much better off never dealing with these people again because they can't function in society and will always be committing crime an being derelict fathers. It's establishing the pattern no matter what.

They won't. It's by design.
This is a feature, not a bug.

They hate the police until they need the police. Then it is the fault of the police and they want taxpayers to pay them. And the bus goes round and round.

If you don’t have enough self fricking control to not murder someone in front of their mother, in public, you have no right to be living in society. Either hang him or put him in solitary confinement for life.

She’s rightfully pissed off that she went to the police for help in this situation and they apparently did nothing.
