only the female is capable of inflicting a sting
I was wondering why I never got stung as a kid. I must've only seen males.
Thank god. That sounds miserable.

I'd put them in glass jars with a stick and a leaf "just like home" and that'd kill em though
Like all wasps, they die if they go too long with nothing to be an a-hole to.

I've seen similar to these in the sandy ground woods and forests in cenla. They're hard to kill. Stomping only works on pavement. ...with hard bottom boots!

Not sure why he would do this. I just watch them. They never bother me one bit. I wouldn't go looking to get stung.. but insects don't bother me.

the females have wings and the males don't. see males all the time. have seen maybe 4 females my whole life
I don't know and I'm not going to look it up, but I think one may not even sting? Could be wrong.
I know not all wasp sting.

I stepped on one of these fricking things while barefooted when I was a kid. I can honestly say that the experience made me literally hate all stinging insects...to this day, if I see anything that stings, I go out of my way to kill it.
have to say, I remember them looking a little different than the one he had...a little fatter, if I remember right.

Those things are pretty much wasps that don't fly.
What would you have to get paid to willingly get stung by a wasp?

If they can't sting, they can still bite the hell out of you.

I stomped one ONCE !!! It is like getting shocked with electricity and stung by two bumble bees at the same time and it continues for a while.
My parents didn't have to tell me to wear my shoes outside after that shite.

Got stung by one last summer when I was swimming in my pool at night with some buddies. I went to grab a float in the water and it felt like someone literally shot me in the finger. I was screaming like a little bitch. We shined a light on the float and saw that little fricker. Them things is straight from hell
