I don't know why people do this kind of shite.

The velvet ant (a.k.a. cow killer) has one of the most painful stings of any insect. And that’s just one of the ways they’re absolutely horrible little creatures.

Many species of velvet ant start life as parasites attached the eggs of other insects, because if you’re going to be a jerk, 110 percent is the only way. Their bodies are needlessly tough, making them nearly indestructible for the duration of their little jerk lives. Speaking of, their terrifically long (and flexible) stingers are a modified sex organ that’s now capable of delivering a solid half-hour of excruciating pain. At some point down the evolutionary ladder, the velvet ant’s ancestor said “sex is neat, but I’d rather be really good at hurting stuff.”

Those things are pretty much wasps that don't fly.

What would you have to get paid to willingly get stung by a wasp?

Have you ever tried to stomp on one of those?

You can't. Their bodies basically flatten and they're unharmed.

There actually classified in the wasp family. A wingless wasp. Although most think they are ants. My sister got stung/bit by one when we were little and I remember her wailing for what seemed like forever. Eventually had to take her to the doctor because when her and I (we were like 9 and 7) attempted to describe what it was my dad had no idea lol. The doc figured it out though after about 15 minutes.

It's a FEMALE sex organ.

only the female is capable of inflicting a sting because the stinger itself is a modified female organ called an ovipositor

I see them here and there, but I haven't tried to kill one in a long time. I used to play with them all the time as a kid, and I definitely did the stomp&grind and they usually kept chugging along. That was usually on dirt, and they would be obviously injured, but they sure as shite kept walking.

I stepped on one when I was a kid accidentally. Used to find them all the time. Hurt like hell.

That dude was trembling when he was putting it on his arm.

This is kind of awesome and hilarious. What an idiot.

This.

Its insane. They were all over our cattle fields growing up.

I'd put them in glass jars with a stick and a leaf "just like home" and that'd kill em though
