Man killed by off duty LPSO officer at the deputy's home in Watson

Happened last night. Saw the airmed around 1:30. Armed dude confronted the deputy in the deputy's own yard. Both were hit by gunfire. Deputy is going to survive, other guy is deceased.

I think this says more than what is actually said. He gives equal "thoughts and prayers" to both individuals involved and added the fact the deputy was off-duty.
If it was a situation in which someone just rolled up on the off duty officer, whether they did it because he was a policeman or not, he would show more support to the officer.
What really happened might not ever make it public, but listening to the podcast Real Life Real crime.. I've learned that LP is one fricked up place and there is no telling what happened.

Deputy was banging some dude's wife and the guy confronted the Deputy about it and shots were exchanged. Husband lost gunfight to Deputy Jody.

Looks like I wasn't far off. My sauce called last night and said that the dead guy is an ex-boyfriend of the deputy's girlfriend. Apparently he showed up (presumably to kill one or both of them) and they got into a scuffle out front which ended up with both of them being shot.
I am being told there is great quality video of the whole incident. What is it with these Livingston SO guys and their home video cameras?
