And like already said, I don’t feel bad for him, he still has $24M

This is such a stupid argument to make....

Take it and apply it to the average person

He's got 80k
She get's 35k
Now he only has 45k

Now do you feel bad for him? The value is arbitrary. It's the principal of it all. Just because he is rich doesn't mean he should have to be happy with losing 40% of his asset because he's still rich

You have to give that person half of all your stuff even if it seems completely ridiculous or unfair.

Only the stuff “you” acquired once y’all were married. That’s how community property works. Whatever you had before/after the marriage is yours.

A man walking along the beach trips over an oil lamp. He picks it up and rubs it an a genie pops out. The genie said, "I'll give you 3 wishes, but whatever I give you...your ex-wife gets double.

The man wishes for $1 Million. $1 Million appears and the genie said "Now your wife has $2 Million.

The man wishes for a mansion on the beach. He is instantly transported to a huge beach house and the genie said, "this mansion is yours and now your wife has 2 beachfront mansions".

Then the genie asks what he wants for the 3rd wish. The man replies, "take that stick and beat me half to death".

It's a long joke...but it's fitting.

He

wasn't

divorced

Look, I feel bad for him. But at the end of the day, you can't allow a divorce to drag on for fricking 7 years.

I realize things get dragged out, but 7 years is nowhere near normal.

The court noted the arbitrator reasoned “that that was probably not the first lottery ticket that defendant purchased during the marriage and that, ‘[a]s losses throughout the marriage were incurred jointly, so should winnings be shared jointly.’”

$15 million for a "probably not". That bitch better be able to document every dime he's spent on the lottery.

It’s stupid...but the law. You have to sign a petition to separate both housing/finances. Without that signed your ex could go buy whatever the frick she wants and you’re obligated to pay for half of it.

Joint checking and savings accounts get raped by a newly separated spouse that can get to the bank first. And the bank has to allow the withdrawal. Second spouse shows up and it's all gone.
Even wilder is you can withdraw everything from a joint account, open up an individual account at the same bank and that bank can't even allow the other spouse know that the other has an account there

I believe she’d have an unfortunate accident

All that does is mean the money goes to her estate instead, so her half-wit, no-account brother that you hate as much as you hate her gets your money.

Technically, my ex-wife's widower might be able to make a valid claim to half of the value that was in my retirement on the day she filed for divorce, but the claim can't be made until I retire and actually start drawing from the retirement.

Thank god it was only worth about $5k and nobody's taking me to court over half.
