Man Found Dead at CO Amusement Park - Was Heavily Armed

Unlike the guy in Maine, it seems like this fella had a late change of heart and decided to go ahead and take himself out first, before taking others with him.
ETA: He killed himself in a women’s restroom stall and wrote “I am not a killer” on the wall before ending it.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — A 22-year-old man found dead at an amusement park in Glenwood Springs on Saturday was armed with multiple guns, loaded magazines and explosive devices, according to authorities.
"While this investigation is still ongoing and very active it is important to realize that given the amount of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices found, the suspect could have implemented an attack of devastating proportions upon the community and first responders," the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office responded Saturday morning to a report of a deceased man at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Based upon a preliminary investigation, it appeared he illegally entered the park after hours.
The man was found before the park opened to the public, and his death wasn't related to any of the rides or exhibits at the park. It wasn't clear how he died, but on Monday, the park released a statement saying the Garfield County coroner was investigating the death as a suicide.

The sheriff's office said the man was heavily armed with a semi-automatic rifle and semi-automatic handgun and had multiple loaded magazines for both weapons. He was wearing body armor and what appeared to be a ballistic helmet.
Additionally, multiple improvised explosive devices, (IEDs) were discovered with the man and in a vehicle associated with him. At the request of the sheriff’s office, the Grand Junction Bomb Squad responded to the scene.

We went to that park 3 years ago while in CO for a wedding. Lots of places along the side of that mountain to hide and wait for unsuspecting visitors. Glad he wound up dead before trying to take anyone out.

We do, and sadly people would rather take away our freedoms than deal with the actual issues. Because addressing mental health would require actual effort on people's part.
