What's wrong with being a racist? What is called a racist is almost a necessity for some white people in certain parts of this country.

The word racist is really losing it's meaning to me. It's used by idiots to describe anyone they don't like.

The guy has a right to open carry. Whatever he's reasoning behind it shouldn't matter.

I'm ok with all of what was said. Physically blocking him shouldn't have happened though.

You lost me at assault rifle.

You know what I mean by my statement though. There is no need to tote a rifle down a march. If you open carry, throw a pistol on your side and be done with it. Rifles aren't personal protection unless you have some range between you. This guy wanted attention and he got it. Like I said, I am all for open and concealed carry but carrying a rifle like that just makes people nervous because it is big and in your face.

Still waiting to see people start to open carry in NOLA due to all the crime.

That should be interesting.

Al Sharpton and the race baiters would be proud of the levels of ignorance in that crowd...

Apparently its racist to have differing opinions now. 'Murica

A. That dude is asking for the attention and looks like a tool with all that gear.

B. Why were those people calling him racist? I don't understand what open carry has to do with racism. All races have equal right to open carry. Also, blocking him on the street was bullshite. Yell all you want, the guy looks like a tool, but don't block him.

C. Our country is going to shite. People have no reasoning or logic anymore. They can't disassociate one issue from another. Open carry and racism? This is a systemic problem and it reaches politics too. Different issues should be approached separately from each other.

D. People screaming about gun violence don't realize a vast majority is done with unregistered firearms and very, very little is done by open carry advocates who usually practice very good firearm safety.

E. It's Cinco De Mayo. Let's get drunk.

I'm certainly fine with open carry too but toting around an "assault" rifle as your open carry weapon is being a dickhead

In many places, ironically, those "scary guns" are the only ones you are legally allowed to open carry. You can carry that one but not a handgun in Houston, for example.

The statement "I'm all for open carry, except..." becomes a lie when you say it in every single case.

And if the only douche you see in that video is the guy with the gun, than there is a problem. That woman was trying to incite more than he was.

No, the douche is the racist black a-hole trying to prevent him from exercising his first and second amendment rights.

Just curious, what kind of firearm technology was around when these laws were written in the US?

Like what was cutting edge firearm technology when the 2nd Amendment was signed into law?

There has to be a trade off. A random person carrying a weapon scares other people in light of the incidence of random shootings today.

The strangers you encounter in the mall may feel in imminent danger the first time you make a seemingly innocent movement - because you are carrying around a weapon that could end their lives with no warning. Gun culture people need to use good judgement when it comes to when and how to carry to avoid scaring the shite out of other people.

People call the OB people nuts, but I see more outrage and stupid stuff on here when it comes to guns and the stories aren't even discussed on the OB.

HUGE stretch to call him a racist for open carrying. She was out of bounds for singling him out like that.

But she says a valid point. If he were black or brown, he would have been sought, and question and there's a higher chance that officers may have opened fire on him.

I'm all for the right to open carry. I'm just not really all that into people doing it for no reason other than to open carry and get a rise out of people. What's the point. I should be able to transport my firearm from one place to the other without it being treated as though it's going to make me start shooting people. But to just carry it for the attention is douchey

Why should I trust you.
