I think anyone with some common sense can figure out that this would happen one day.

The sad part is that police departments will just argue that this is why they need to go in armed "to protect themselves". In fact I wouldnt be surprised if they said they need bigger/better guns.

Why is a SWAT team needed to bust through a low-level coke dealer's house? Oh yeah, the war on drugs and the need for police forces to flex their little dick muscles.

Wrong addresses are especially infuriating....not only does a family's rights get completely violated, but their lives are put in danger.

They killed an old lady here in Atlanta a few years ago.

If he were to leave the house and then get pulled over on the road, there would be no "need" to wear tacticool gear, army boots, AR's w/lasers, flash grenades (and no babies to use them on), no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers and all the other cool as shite they get to dress up in and play Navy Seal with.

Great stuff OffshoreTigerFan. That is sad when 1/3rd of SWAT raids yield no contraband, yet 2/3rds of raids are conducted for drug/contraband searches. That is extremely inefficient. Sad what happened to that SWAT Officer, but damn, going in on a no-knock at 5:30 AM can only lead to bad shite. I would draw my guns and defend my property/family in that instance.

So do the police pay to fix your shite after they kick it in and tear your place apart and find nothing? Sorry, I've never been raided before

Well my best friend was killed in the line of duty after they knocked and announced themselves first, giving the guy time to get a gun and set himself up behind cover. He then shot my friend in the head after he used the ram to bash the door in.

So neither one is safer than the other.

If they had done no knock, my friend would likely still be alive.

Sad to hear, but that comes with the job. No-knock warrants are becoming nothing more than break-ins. Innocent civilians are getting hurt all to protect the officer. It's not right, and it's not how it should be.

My biggest issue with shite like this is that the cops or administrators for the police will never admit that they made mistakes or poor decisions. It has become a world where you just better hope to avoid all police activity, because if they frick up its your fault.

This is absurd. Police expect to be judged by how facts appear to them at the time they occur, and this man should get the same treatment. He shot an intruder that was breaking into his house.

First thing I thought of. He leaves house then you either a) apprehend him by swarming him out in the open and then search his house or b) let him go and then search his house. No need to climb into the house like a burglar.

When cops make mistakes i never hear of them getting charged with murder...this guy made a good shoot IMO.

They found the weapon, I guess. How can you get a no knock warrant just because "you believe" someone is doing something?

What a dumb thing to do. Sucks that he dead, but stupid hurts.
