The hotel that I stayed in a few years ago in Malibu right on the PCH is gone. As is the pizza place that we got after getting appetizers at Nobu.

Really sad. The people there were surprisingly nice.

Wasn't that poster referring to a specific place?

New evacuation zone just announced for Santa Monica. The LAFD just extended the mandatory evacuation zone from 11th Street to Wilshire to Palisades Beach road.

Jesus that’s getting into the heart of L.A.

Kind of reminds me of that 90s disaster movie where the volcano erupts out of the La Brea Tar pits

The client whose house is toast in Pacific Palisades has a business in what is now the mandatory evac zone in Santa Monica. I hope it survives because that would suck to lose everything you have built over a career in 1.5 days.

At least with a hurricane you get some warning. All of this sucks.

Gonna be a clusterfrick.

I really enjoyed my time living in El Segundo and enjoyed going to a few Santa Monica restaurants regularly. The fire insurance being changed is really going to hurt some people.

This is really devastating. This will be a huge tragedy. Those who politicize it or think it is some deserved fate are sick.

California: Pacific Palisades has been completely devastated by the Palisades Fire. This footage was sent in from the individual who took it, showing the destruction that took place in his neighborhood.

The attached photo shows neighborhood after neighborhood that were burned to the ground.

Some reports are saying nearly 75% of the community has been destroyed. Fire Managers on the Eaton Fire have reported 5 civilian fatalities, and expect more. It will take time to account for everyone that has evacuated and go house to house with searches until a final number came be released.

There are already statements being made that the California FAIR Plan, the insurer of last resort, and insurance companies may not have the immense amount of capital to cover the losses. This is something I warned about last year, as the STATE’s FAIR Plan was oversubscribed and completely dependent on other policy holders.

I said it would take one big fire through a community to bankrupt the entire system, little did I know it would come less than a year later. The after effects of this will be felt years.
