Keep me updated on Hattiesburg if you can, my folks are up there

I sure will. May change location depending on situation, but Hattiesburg has great connections to other places to intercept storms like bassfield, sumrall, etc

They’ll blame staffing but it comes down to shitty mets. Last night was busy but it wasn’t a difficult radar night. Cells were numerous but discreet and everything was spinning. It was some textbook tors and not difficult to decipher.

I’ve got a bone to pick with whoever handles the FL panhandle overnight.

I swear they’re playing games on their phone because it’ll be clear as day on the radar and they’ll sit on it until it’s on top of people or even passed them at times.

It should miss Rolling Fork, thankfully. At least it shouldn't go right through it.

I wonder what the process is for issuing a warning.

Like, what approval or bureaucratic hoops need to be jumped through to issue warnings? Might explain the perceived delays.

Any one here know that?

I don’t want to confuse yesterday's warnings with today so I won’t post the graphic, but it looks like NWS dropped the observed tornado warning for that Ryan Hall storm as it it unwound into more broad rotation at 7:08 central. Ryan Hall said it himself on the stream. It tightened back up and was simultaneously warned on the stream once rotation was evident.

The few scans before than were pretty broad though, so I get it, but you’d rather be safe than sorry I suppose.

The warning was extended seconds after the image I posted

To your point, seems like it’s better to just extend the warning when it’s debatable that close to the edge.

I’d go ahead and get in the house if you’re not already.
