What's amazing is most of this was caused by like 12 hrs of rain in for most part centralized locations

Coupled with days of wind pushing water north from the lake.

That hurt the coastal areas but this flooding coming downwards I don't think would have been any different without those winds prior days huh?

I kind of think so.
Most of where it all would have gone was full from the wind pushing it up the rivers/waterways it usually would have drained into.

WAFB weather says the Amite crest on French Settlement might be worst on record. They said everyone in French Settlement and Maurepas should evacuate. Anyone along the Amite who had water during Allison should evacuate.

Problem with that forecast is wind isnt gonna blow out of SE. Its blowing SW. Big difference.

The wind was sort of a dam on the rivers and smaller drainage creeks. I don't think it would have been that bad without the wind.

Amite riv er has crested a good 4' lower than predicted in Denham Springs. Good news. But, how can they miss a forecasted crest by that much?
