WDSU just said they are evacuating Tallow Creek?

Looked like they were evacuating Tallow Creek around 2-3pm when we passed. We live right down 1085 in Del Sol.

How is the rest of the area holding up?

Water receding in Frenchmen's yet?
Status of the L-11?
Did they fix the pump at Chauvin that Brockman was working on earlier?
Where is Balls during this time?

Impression from that video:

1 There sure are a lot of ticky-tack subdivisions on the Northshore. If I'm going to pay six figures for a house, it's coming with enough acreage so that I can't see my neighbors. If that means driving an extra 30 minutes to work, so be it.

2 The flood map is your friend. If the property isn't zoned C or X, I ain't buying it. 100 year floods are a misnomer. One, and likely more, will happen to you during the time you own your house.

C or X doesn't mean overly too too much but generally yes the water will follow the pink for sure

I marked levels every hour from 10 to 6. At 6 the water was 6 or so feet from garage and about 10 from front door. As of right now the water is back to 4pm levels. I do believe a couple of houses up front took in water. I did not leave. CLECO cut our power a couple hours ago, hopefully that's all we have to worry about the rest of the night.

Water has started to recede in Frenchman's, just very slow. The L-11 by fink's is flowing but still very high. Hopefully everything continues to flow well in this area. I haven't heard anything about the pumps in Chauvin- only heard initially that 2 of the 3 were working at first but not sure about now. Not sure of balls whereabouts but hopefully high and dry

Flood maps are crap. As more houses are built in a given area, the maps become even more valueless. That, and developers that fill A10 lots.

Do your own research. C aint gonna cut it, in a lot of cases.

We were supposed to get pounded with this, and it was like any ole front that comes thru. Crazy how out of hand things have gotten an hour away

Hwy 1077 N. of Hwy 190 at Mcgee Rd. earlier today was really bad. Many of those homes had 2 feet of water inside.
