some more photos from airport rd exit.
It is one thing to have your home flooded or to have your vehicle stranded due to a flash flood, but these people who are driving through this stuff are an entirely different story.
There is obviously very deep standing water and people are just casually driving right into and going off into ditches or getting into water that stalls the vehicle. Come on people, have a little sense and stay away.

You should be fine. You'll have to exit I 49 at Stonewall and take hWY 171 north into town. Minor hiccup

Just talked to a guy that works for an energy company. They tried to go to parts of Wash. Parish, but couldn't make it through the roads.

You should be fine. A friend of mine just went that way and was able to get down the service road on the south side of the interstate. It's still passable by the interstate, just not any further south.

Me too. They live further out on the outskirts though. I haven't seen any updates from them yet. I think where they live should be alright though... lots of open pasture land mostly.

So near Burkeville it's pretty much as high as it's going to get? Or am I reading that wrong?
Basically, but those are just projections. It appears to be leveling off, but that doesn't account for more rainfall and things of that nature. That being said, every additional foot at these levels is tens of thousands of additional cubic feet of water per second. The scale on the right shows the flow. Going from 38ft to 42ft is an increase of 16kcf/s, but going from 42ft to 46ft is an increase of nearly 40kcf/s.
You know it is unprecedented when the flow chart numbers aren't even charted for the current water height. The last official flow reading was at 10:15AM this morning and it was 219kcfs @ 53.67ft - there was 7kcf/s of flow 3 days ago.
To put it in perspective, that is more than a third of the average discharge of the Mississippi River @ Baton Rouge.

I just read the last ten pages. You baws are cooperating and communicating well with each other. It's not often you see that on the OT.

I was hoping that the leveling out would be good news, but just heard that my fiancee's dad's house has probably 3-4 feet of water in it.
Around that Burkeville area but on the Louisiana side.
