Yep. Homeowners doesn't cover rising water. Just falling water, ie rain damage.

Tell her not to listen to them! If she's out there alone, it's better not to risk getting into an unsafe situation.

Wish I lived closer to help, it's making me sick thinking about it.

I wouldn't let anyone chance going out there at this point. Even if you used a stick to guide yourself down the walkway, the rush/current could do awful things, no??

It's a stagnant lake, not a river. If any grown man born and raised in Louisiana wouldn't do that they should move to Delaware.

Caney does not have a big watershed area so it shouldn't come up a whole lot more. It drains pretty quickly, but if it don't stop raining that boat could reach the roof.

I dont see the danger here. Wear a lifejacket and go to the boat If you want, double up the safety and tie a rope around yourself and have a person hold the other end on the ground. This isnt the Mississippi river here people.

Now, the mother should not try anything by herself

I'm a girl lol ... IDK shite about these things ... just that our boat is insured and my husband wouldn't worry. We've got other things to worry about like crops in the field.

Hope everything turns out ok for everyone! Have friends affected up in the Shreveport/Bossier area.
