It's my stepdad's and I haven't been in awhile so I can't tell you

But yeah he's fixing to leave to go move the barge and put all the furniture and appliances on cinder blocks. He said the last flood lacked two inches from getting in the house and this is supposed to be worse

Is that for me or the other poster?

This dock is floating and could go up another 12 feet before any issues would come up.

I'm seriously trying to talk her into letting me start a thread on the OB asking for help at Caney Lake. IDK if she knows that many people out there - they haven't lived there long.

ETA: No she doesn't know anyone with a boat who could help her.

Exactly what my dad did last night. Luckily, our house is pretty high up on a high and pier and beam but our boat houses have electricity and water lines going to both. I am sure they are done.

It sucks for our camp but nothing like having your primary residence destroyed. This is terrible for everyone.

Pox, if it was possible, getting it out of there would be smart. Another foot of rise and their nice Party Barge is going to get beat up.

So he was able to get to it ok?

We live in Ruston and my mom is concerned he won't be able to drive to it

She doesn't need a boat. Is there a grown man around that could slowly step out on that dock to it? He would be in knee deep water. It's pretty damn wide. Walk slowly to it. Put a life jacket on incase he thinks he may fall in.

Our place is just south of Port of Bistineau and he was able to get there from Shreveport. We have a kayak that he paddled out to the barge, pulled it out into the lake and tied a long/loose knot to let the boat move a bit. He is a retired business man but a true redneck at heart, so he loved the action.

Sorry to hear about your mom's place. Hell I had no clue how much rain was falling in Louisiana until I saw a friend's post that stated pray for the people in Louisiana. There were some awful pics. Prayers too everyone involved in this

No grown men around. Mom says it's waist high water to get to the pier. (We are a short family)

I'm about to post it on the OB Board. She is gonna get pissed off about it, but ya'll have me freaking out.

I wonder if Monroe's mayor has thought about turning on the pumps yet?

Yes, I am serious.

And if so, I wonder if they are working? 50/50 chance they are all working (if they remembered to turn them on).
