I had plans to go to BR this weekend and I live in NOLA. I'm planning on sticking around NOLA this weekend just in case anything happens I'd like to be around my house.

your friend should be fine. i'd rather be in Nashville than trapped in a house getting flooded. not like he/she can control the house getting flooded.

It was closed south of Bert Kouns a few hours ago. I don't think it will be opening again soon. You could always go south on 71 in Bossier and cut back to 49 around Coushatta but I am not sure about any road closing down that way.
