The ole lady has to drive from Baton Rouge to Houston tomorrow morning. Is there a safe route? I'm assuming the flooding is well north of I-10 and the rain will begin to clear tomorrow.

Go to military surplus store and tell her to buy an amphibious vehicle. Problem solved.

Yep. There's a reason you only see SUVs and trucks still out powering through. Cars don't stand a chance

Woke up hungover the day after Gustav and realized there was no electricity & class had been cancelled for the week. I had to drive through door deep water on River rd to get out and get to NELA and sweet sweet air conditioning. Then there was atleast one major rain storm (nothing like this one though) every spring that flooded the areas around LSU. Cars were SOL, but the ole F-150 did not let me down.

Hope everyone in north La is ok and had the right kind of insurance.

The Sabine River crest is going to be a monster.

Got a call yesterday from a friend - got off at the 175 exit on I 49 in Desoto Parish. Drove into the water, the car in front of him floated to the side and stalled. He decided to go forward. Ended up with water rising to the roof (after he got out). The Relay Station truck stop let him dry his suit.

The workers at the International Paper plant in Desoto parish are stranded.

Very true. It will be a few days, but it will crest above major level.

Thats crazy about the IP plant workers. That plant is off of 509 correct?

I have a boat in a lift on lake D'arbonne and can't get over there, the lake is suppose to crest over 9 ' which will put it over our boat house.

I'm gonna be F##Ked

They are ok, but the road (509) is closed both ways. As of early this a.m., you could still get from Mansfield to 49 on 509 (but I 49 is closed North of Stonewall.

12" over 3 days isn't so bad. It's 12" in one day that bothers me.

It's tied, but there's not 9' of slack to let it go up and down.

Looks like the prediction for the NOLA area has gone down to around 10". Can't complain about that.

It looks like the heavier stuff continues to move east of NOLA.

1. What is it tied up to?
2. Do you have insurance on it?
3. That sucks.
4. Just remembered that we have one on a lift in Lake Bruin, do yall know if the MS river parishes are getting hit like the Monroe area is?

ETA: Just checked the radar on knoe. It looks like the storm hasn't made it there. Better go call my brother and tell him to get his arse out of bed and go take the boat out of the slip.
