I'm in DWS, and it seems that the Sheriff is of the opinion that the levee will not make it.

They're doing a live news shot right now at the front of the subdivision with guardsmen filling sand bags. 98 or 99 ish type event is what I'm Hearing but I wasn't here then so I don't have a true frame of reference.

Yeah. We have an upper and lower pasture. I opened the gates to the upper and they're all up there under shelter. The upper is 100+ feet higher in elevation.

Lake providence might get in some homes here. Got a little over 5" last night, expecting 6 or so more.

Wish I was good enough at math to calculate the lake rise.

Body of water connected to the Red.

That dock is about 2.5' under and was exposed 4' yesterday morning.

ETA: and the reporter for NBC nightly news called Bossier parish "Bossier County near Lafayette".

I'm right there, I'll post if it goes down badly. Latest I've heard we can stay if we monitor water levels, but if the levee fails they'll shut power to the entire subdivision, so that'll be the cue to go.

That guy almost drove into a flooded creek trying to get out of that small town. He's screwed if he doesn't back up down that road.

On the phone with my SIL...how long would they have after the lever breaks?

They live on dogwood lane in the newest section.

Does anyone know if Bossier Sheriff is thinking the levee will break or if they are worried about the water overtopping. The water is at least 4 feet from the top of the levee as of now.
