Anyone else's weather app showing snow/ice in south Louisiana? I have 2 different apps telling me it's snowing in Mandeville and I can look out the window and see that it's not

Might need to extend the dates in OP:

All of a sudden, Mother Nature figured out how to run a proper winter across the United States.

By next Monday, a major Arctic blast will descend the Rockies into Texas.

Temperatures 45°F below normal in Denver put actual lows close to -30°F

I'd expect this to moderate as we approach next weekend.

Unfortunately, this is a "double load" of Arctic air, as another massive chunk of cold air could wipe out the rest of Lower 48 east of the Rockies into weekend of Jan 25-26th.

Hopefully someone will turn a dial or push a button to keep this on the other side of the North Pole.

Somehow south Louisiana will hit zero degrees and still only get rain.

I don't think it would matter.

But that map isn't air temperature but departure from average (so if normal high that day is 50 the high would be 25).

6z GFS run for 1/12/25 shows ice/sleet for next Monday south of I-10

Latest Euro has all snow.

Even though this probably won’t happen, lows in the mid 20’s are very likely

Seeing 1-3" of snow for next Monday night here in West Central Georgia. That's the night of the NCG in Atlanta.

Meanwhile Nola weather says there is zero chance of frozen precipitation.

To be fair, they will probably be correct (again).

Seems to be shaping up for a snow heavy winter in the Mississippi and Ohio valleys. Should make for an interesting Spring flood season.

It’s surprising to see Hawaii with the lowest temperature. I would assume they get real hot certain parts of the year.
