There was a mail carrier in River Ridge last year who got his 3rd DWI overall, and 2nd while driving his mail truck on the job.
The USPS knew the guy had a DWI while on the job and they put him back in a vehicle to deliver mail.
So no, throwing a few packages won’t get you fired from the USPS.

They have the best union in the country, literally nothing will happen. My mail delivery lady tells me horror stories about how much employees get away with because of the union. Yet the employees' parking lots across the country had $100K worth of surveillance cameras installed because of all the problems in the parking lot. etc etc etc

Their union is probably stronger than the UAW.

My parents were managers back in the day. My dad said he caught a guy smoking crack on the job and the union just got him transferred.
They do lose a rank.
The usps has a numbered level system. From 5-32.
A five being a clerk a 32 being a postmaster or area manager.
Then you have higher levels but the numbers don't go up much.
You get busted doing things you could get knocked down.
Most carriers seem to want to stay carriers.
