Overall I agree but they listed Sun Maid Cinnamon swirl Raisin bread.

No one was eating it for the health benefits. Put a little Country Crock on it and you've got a tasty treat. ....a really bad tasty treat.

My daughter just won a kids baking competition sponsored by King Arthur at the fair last week. Should have entered her in the adult division she would have won that easily and the prize was twice as large. We need to get on their website and use the prize $ before we forget.

I've been meaning to try making french bread since we cant find any decent baguettes in FL all are just soft white bread w no crust. Wonder if these baguette pans would be useful

King Arthur has some of the best pans and equipment out there. It is not cheap, but it's quality.

And big congrats to the young lady!

There is NOTHING better than a fresh crusty loaf. In Paris, there are boulangeries at every corner, and the baguettes are to die for. As are the croissants.

And the French are not overweight. Because their food doesn't have all the crap in it, and because their preferred mode of transportation is walking.

They have other problems, of course, but eating bread is not one of them.

And baking bread makes the house smell AMAZING!

When we had our house listed and a showing scheduled, my wife (no pics) would bake a loaf in the bread maker.

We arrived LEGALLY (parents waited 10 years for a visa), father went to work within 3 weeks of arrival, kids were placed in advanced classes 2 years ahead of grade level, and mom stayed home to take care of kids and household, and learn English. We took not 1 penny of government money.

So no, we won't go back and we will only support legal immigration for folks who have something to contribute to this great country of ours.

Now, back to bread,,,

YES! One of the best free real estate tips ever. And baking cookies, leaving a plateful in the kitchen for potential buyers.

Good luck trying to find non-GMO flour

https://www.ancientgrains.com/

Just bought a couple of 10lb flour bags from them recently. If the bread comes out good plan to get a flour grinding attachment for my Kitchen-Aid and buying thr 5 gallon buckets of raw grains.

I don't think many, aside from the really uneducated, buy any of those breads in the list not knowing that they're very unhealthy.

Most of those are the sweetest ones in the store.

Anyone making an effort at all to eat healthy can easily find breads in the aisle that aren't too bad though:

I plan to get the book. I have never been successful with bread except for making cornbread and biscuits.

"Why would you even bother?"

Wheat Belly, etc.

"Every day, over 200 million Americans consume food products made of wheat. As a result, over 100 million of them experience some form of adverse health effect, ranging from high blood sugar to unattractive stomach bulges or “Wheat Bellies”. Dr. Davis reveals, that excess fat has nothing to do with gluttony, sloth, or too much butter: It’s due to the whole grain wraps we eat for lunch."

It’s pretty much foolproof. You need a Dutch oven, a kitchen scale, water, yeast, bread flour, and salt. You can also use a brotform if you want it to sit in its final shape for the last 2 hours or in the fridge up to 24 hours but that’s optional. Another thing you may need is a lame or a razor blade for scoring.

Mix the ingredients, let the dough sit covered for 12 hours, shape the bread into a ball, let it sit another 1-2 hours, preheat Dutch oven for 30 mins at 475, then bake uncovered for 30 mins in the Dutch oven. Take the lid off and bake another 30 mins to get it nice and brown. I like to score the bread right beforehand so the steam knows where to go with the oven spring effect. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer them

PS: I also like to stretch and fold the dough every half hour for the first 30 mins which takes like 5 seconds but this is optional. Just sets up the dough better. If you want a good YouTuber to watch on the subject, check out “the perfect loaf” channel. Lots of good nuggets.

PPS: the ingredient weights are 400g bread flour, 300g cool water like 55-65 degrees, 1-2tsp salt, and 1/4tsp yeast. You can just mix it in a bowl with a wooden spoon. I can put it all together in my sleep it’s so easy.
