Harry's started giving money to organizations that are explicitly dedicated to reducing men to subjugated children, so I cancelled.
IMO there is a big difference in throwing fits and protesting and deciding you don't want to spend money on a company that is working to undermine your ideology. Sucks Gillette is now doing it too.
You don't have to be frothing at the mouth outraged to see the ridiculousness of male-centric companies adopting the position that being male comes with inherent faults/burdens.

Just watched the commercial after reading your post. The commercial does none of this.

The ad didn't say any of that. Fox News and CNN were on at the gym this morning and they both mentioned the word toxic masculinity. The ad itself were more along the line of men holding other men accountable. Not taking sides just reporting what I saw.

I just looked at Gillette's page.
The content itself isn't that disturbing. Boys and Girls Club is a wise choice for charity (far better than the SJW orgs I mentioned from Harry's).
The real issue is the absolutely bullshite concept that men are somehow at a low point. Well, in truth, they probably are, but it certainly isn't because they're acting too much like men. Obviously I have no objection to rooting out assault/prejudice/harassment, but when we create an epidemic fiction based on skewed pay figures, bullshite rape statistics and a culture where harassment or assault allegations should be deemed credible years later with no evidence - the foundation for this stuff should be called into question.
More simply - Does anyone really think the goal of the advocacy organizations pushing Gillette to respond like this is to truly reduce abuse, assault, etc.?

I understand that wasnt in the commercial. I am just telling you what the entire "boys will be boys" movement and "toxic masculinity" movement is. It isnt about removing bad things men do (because women do the same bad things), its about pushing the notion being a man and anything associated with being a man is inherently bad
I dont know why so many people are afraid to just admit that. It doesnt make you a snowflake, it just makes you someone who is aware

They acting like the guy that swoops in, and gives the girl the "feels" shoulder to cry on.
Come out against bullying, and cat calling level of annoyance all seperatly. Dont box them all in with being a male, cause not al of us act this way. Also, they are doing this to combine general dislike for something as bullying. I dont want to hangout with meth head white trash, ghetto trash, or a flaymboyent gay boi all the same. One shouldn't cry about it, or protest, but it seems just as strange to me to support a company and give them money who believe such asinine things and will likely give money to support political movements about such asinine things.
This is why we can't have actual discussions in america. There are people (on both sides) who prefer to resort to exaggerations such as this to disprove what are usually much simpler claims. See also Reductio ad absurdum.
But, back on topic, I'm not mad at Gillette, but I bought a safety razor and a bunch of blades a few months ago and it's great. I still have a mach 3 that I sometimes use if I'm in a hurry, but I prefer to shave with the safety razor.
