Still one of the best songs/videos Kanye has ever done.
"Couldn't buy a car so she named her daughter Alexis."
"Single black female addicted to retail"
I swear some of the best raps ever. Then he went fricking crazy.

Acknowledging that you have some inherent advantages thanks to our culture's perception of race does not mean you are self-hating. I love being white and I cherish my Scottish, Irish, and English heritage, but I also think that my race works unfairly in my favor in some circumstances.
So what is accomplished by this acknowledgement?

Do not see Sam Hunt as an example. Your ears will bleed or your mind will be blown wondering how the frick his songs got popular by rapping/talking, then singing in country.

And that will do absolutely dick for the "struggling" Black Community.

What does that say, Macklemore?

Replaced the one I found with one I made.
Better?

Ok if he did not, who can I direct my ire at and only hate him for making noise that could only loosely be called music?

absolutely garbage music, and pandering so hard to be accepted.

I notice that a lot of people characterize the acknowledgment of privilege as "self-hating" but it's not. That's the point of my previous post.
edit: I want to point out that I don't feel guilty about my privilege. I can separate talking about it with feeling guilty about it. So essentially, my position is this: I'm proud of my heritage, I acknowledge my privilege, but I don't feel guilty about it. It's just being realistic about how our culture operates.
