Have you read any of the recent work on Babesia odocoilei? If you haven’t, it’s worth looking at IMO.

Had it. Bit me on the neck at the base of the skull. 6 days later I started feeling lethargic with an off an on low grade fever. About a week later it progressed rapidly. Fever, sweats, needed help walking (I hike 500+ miles a year) then it was like I was paralyzed and it felt like someone was trying to cut my entire spine out with a hot knife. Body covered in rashes but I never had the bullseye. Lost almost all of the mobility in my neck. I thought it was meningitis.
To bad off to go the hospital so messaged my doc on a Saturday morning and explained my symptoms. He called in doxy and said if I wasn't feeling better by Monday to see him or go to ER. By Sunday evening I was fine other than zero energy. On Tuesday I felt 100%. Crazy how I went from thinking I was literally dieing to fully recovered that quick

Got Lyme Disease last year in Connecticut.
Never knew I was bitten, but was sick as all hell for over a week (fever, puking, body aches, sheer exhaustion) before the telltale bullseye showed up on my leg.
Methatrexate (?) fixed me right up, but the disease never goes away. About once a month I have a day where I literally have ZERO energy. Getting out of bed is exhausting. That is the only long-term effect I have noticed.

Did you ever test positive? It's possible you had Babesia, because of the fever, sweats, the fatigue, and the rapid onset. Doxycline has some antimalarial properties, so it would have helped.

I’ve had it and my mom just had it. Just get on doxycycline asap and you should be fine. Nip it in the bud, it can cause chronic health issues if untreated.

Got it about 35 years ago when it was still sort of a mystery illness. There wasn’t a clear cut treatment approach for it at that time so the doctors were just throwing any type of antibiotic or antiviral at it. Ivermectin and doxycycline were a big part of that approach.
No long term effects that I’d attribute to Lyme’s Disease. This year so far I’m up to 17 wood ticks I’ve found on myself and two deer ticks. I’m just sort of used to finding a few ticks a year and those two are not difficult to identify at all. What’s a bit odd is that a fair number of d a wood tick on them and lose their damn minds thinking that they now have full blown Lyme’s Disease. Wrong kind of tick you silly goose.

It can trigger nasty long term autoimmune issues. Stay on top of it.

Go let a lone star tick bite you then go eat meat. You will die if you don’t get to the hospital
I have rushed someone to the hospital for it and it was terrifying. They had to be trached

Yeah, whomever said it was a mental disorder is a blithering idiot.

Why don’t you just get doxycycline Rx to be on safe side. Go to PCP or urgent care and they should treat you empirically
That is what I did last year. Had a tick bite on my leg. It was on me not more than a few hours, so much less than the 24 hour rule. I had the bullseye start showing up within another day. Went to urgent care and they took blood and got me on doxycycline for precaution. Scheduled an appointment with my primary physician and he extended the medication for another cycle. Blood results came back positive so be proactive.

I would have your Dr. go ahead and write you a prescription for the appropriate antibiotics ASAP. There is a window where this will take care of the symptoms. If you go too long without treatment, Lyme can’t be diagnosed or treated. Unfortunately my Dr. thinks that’s my situation. Also, only 30-40% of those infected with Lyme exhibit the bullseye ring around the bite.

Had it about 15 years ago. Tick bite, tell tale bullseye, massive amounts of joint pain, couldn't stay awake to save my life.
Doxycycline regiment cleared me up after a couple days.

About 20 years ago, I had a tick bite at the base of my hairline, thought nothing of it bc I grew up in the country and had many tick bites throughout the years. My neck swelled and I went to the doc, no bullseye, so they didn’t treat it. I spent the next year exhausted, with no energy and would develop weird rashes across my chest and contracted strep throat (my throat was never sore) three times. A doctor friend prescribed low Doxycycline for 6 months and I never had another symptom.
Freaked me out that something so small could reak havoc on my body like that.

The teen age daughter of a friend of mine died from Lyme disease after a tick bite. Apparently the infection settled in her heart. Very sad.

Don't take this disease lightly. It can literally destroy your quality of life.
