I agree with this….if we had a Singaporean justice system.

Waiting for articles to start appearing that claim these retail thefts are only because reparations have not been provided to the usual suspects.
You know it's coming.

The best thing about the whole situation is that these women got their story out. Any problems Lululemon thought they were avoiding by allowing blatant theft has been matched by a clear unjust firing and making them look moronic. Hopefully it continues to spread and they suffer serious backlash from it.

I think that's the default setting now although some are worse than others.

The company I work for isn't "mega" woke, but they're getting close. The email recommending pronouns in our email has already been sent twice. I ain't doing that shite.

We do have a lot of fruits that work for us and our 2nd major office is in California, so it's not a big surprise.

Sadly, a lot of retailers have that policy. I want to say something similar happened to a guy at Home Depot not long ago. I understand encouraging employees to not physically intervene because of what could happen to the employee but firing them for videoing it and calling police is just stupid.

Its a ridiculous policy.

Yes, not actually intervening should be policy. Kids aint paid enough or trained to deal with that. Lots of liability for the employer.

Video tapping and reporting a crime being fireable?

At some point, you just want extra shrinkage.

I've noticed that my grocery store went from zero people monitoring the self checkout kiosks to one person casually hanging around which turned into one person closely monitoring you and now they have two people who stand directly behind you to offer assistance or take away your hand basket.

And this is the "nice" grocery store in a decent area.

Retail theft must be insane.

I don’t understand the direction we are going in and I hope they sue the shite out of them.

I would absolutely agree if that's what they were fired for. They were fired for physically confronting and following them out into the parking lot, either of which could have gotten them killed or injured badly. There are just several people in here twisting the story to fit some kind of narrative.

Physical confrontation is explicitly against any retail places policy.

So if thats the case, this aint a story.

So pulling a firearm on them and telling them to go get fricked, is not physical. That's what needs to happen.

Exactly, that's my whole point. The entire thing (like everything else here) is being politicized and not seen for what it is. When the counter argument is "well, they should be allowed to shoot them" and "companies side with thieves over their own employees" you know that it's not a fight worth fighting anymore.

And you are missing the whole point ... when a segment of society thinks that walking into any business with the intent to steal because they know the employees are told to not interfere IS THE frickING PROBLEM! These thieves have learned that corporations are scared of scum sucking lawyers who defend thieves. What healthy society does this!

Seriously, I see your point but what healthy society tolerates this kind of behavior from mostly one demographic? Where does it end?

If a corporation is so woke as to allow this, then they might as well put "free for black people" signs in all their stores. At least I'd know where to not spend my hard earned money.

The dregs of society are winning. I feel for my grandkids future and you should, too.

Ga like La is a right to work state so they can terminate for any or no reason except for discrimination.

I guess they file claiming discrimination against the mental disability of being sane humans.

Feel like a jackass buying $68 shorts from them when thugs can get their merch for free with no consequences. Will never buy anything from them again
