We need a good Norm quote on this one, "he told me, 'I think the worst part of the Luigi Mangione thing was the hypocrisy.' And I disagreed. I thought it was the murdering.'"
"I mean this guy was a real jerk!"

It definitely didn’t look like that was the first time he had killed someone either. Ex-military is also a decently likely scenario on who this person could be.
This is like the DC sniper case when a lot of people were convinced the shooter was a trained sniper but it turned out the shots were taken by a 17yo.
Anyone with any weapons experience would have had the proper booster with the suppressor so the pistol would cycle properly. They would have been aware of the issue because they would have tested their setup before attempting the deed. There is the vanishingly low possibility that the shooter wanted it to appear as though he was using a Welrod or veterinary pistol.

This isn't about some nobility of being poor. They are LARPing AS the working poor and trying to pretend the system left THEM behind. And they're not talking down on people working at Walmart, but those who shop there (while making $30k/year and being the actual version of the LARP-avatar they created).
This isn't reflective of the movement in any significant way that I see. I don't see anyone LARPing as poor or a member of an aggrieved class. I don't see any evidence that our guy Luigi did so thus far either.

My best friend growing up is wicked smaht but never developed social skills. I know he exists, but after a ton of diligent internet searching, I can find literally no proof he does. He went to UVA and I think he is a teacher somewhere in NOVA.
If we're telling those stories:
I went to grad school with a guy who finished high school early at 16 years old. He had acceptances to multiple Ivy league schools for undergrad and made his final decision between Princeton and........Troy.
He chose Troy because he "didn't see what he would learn at Princeton that he couldn't learn at Troy."
After his master's, he got his PhD and is now a professor.
While in grad school, he once handed me a 40 page handwritten argument about the affordances and constraints in a system of government that mixed the British monarchy with Nazism. It scared the hell out of me.

So i guess everyone is just taking this all as facts at face value? No chance this guy is a scapegoat?
I mean it's impossible to verify any of this info or even the picture the fbi released a few days ago as the guy they were looking for as being the shooter

The other guy was a 40 year old ex military and baton rouge native.
So if anything, the 17 year old was trained and brainwashed into islam by this guy.
quote:
He qualified with the Army's standard rifle, the M16, earning the Expert Rifleman's Badge. This is the Army's highest of three levels of basic rifle marksmanship for a soldier.
quote:
After psychological counseling, he admitted that he was lying at the earlier Virginia trial when he admitted to being the trigger man for every shooting. He said he lied to save Muhammad from a death penalty sentence.
So no, the 17 year old didnt shoot all of those people.

They only have agency over themselves. That's why it works with religion and not government.

We're both critics of MAGA to varying degrees, but I don't find this terribly charitable (or accurate).

The backbone of MAGA has always been mostly blue-collar low-IQ rural Americans.
