Dr Rousse is a Louisiana native and has done wonderful things at McNeese. Student engagement is up, fundraising is up, enrollment is up and led the building of McNeese LNG Center of Excellence resource center added to campus. Pro industry, pro conservationist, and pro athletics. And understands Louisiana politics

Some candidates are applying but want to avoid their current employer knowing that they are looking.

It’s not uncommon and had several colleagues do the same thing.

There was a time when the short list for LSU's top job had to hold a comparable or rising position at a peer institution. This roster of candidates is notably thin on that level of administrators. We do not need UL-Baton Rouge. It may be time to go back to letting the President appease the politicians while the Chancellor steers the U towards a reasonable vision of excellence.

Usually when people are going for promotions, there is no need for privacy

This has me concerned

I used to work for Robbins before he went to the Univ of Arizona.

He was a football nut, and every time I saw him, he was sitting in his office watching SportsCenter. The joke when he went to Arizona was the only reason he went there was so he could have his own football team.

Every governor does this. It’s one of the perks. This is not unique to Landry.
