Not testing all the students routinely for covid is doing the opposite of what they say is "trust the science". The CDC stated that the vaccinated can still have and spread covid so I don't understand why everyone isn't being tested?

"One of the most nagging questions about the COVID-19 pandemic for public health authorities, policymakers and the public was whether the vaccines stop transmission. New Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data show that in breakthrough cases of the highly transmissible delta variant, the answer is no."

When the vaccines were being developed, there was no such thing (or not known ) delta variant so they didn’t know how the vaccine would respond to the delta variant. Now they know that it does remarkably well at keeping symptoms down and ultimately people alive but it does not stop the spread from
Those vaccinated.

A mandate should be driven by the prevention of spread, period. Not getting sicker is an individual personal decision. Institutions and companies have lost their minds, operating completely on emotion and perception and not reason.

LSU requires quite a few vaccinations before attending school. I had to get 2 or 3 when I started

Unfortunately this is a win in today's climate. Faculty started discussions at 100% remote.

No, they don't. They ask for it, but you can decline by signing a waiver that you'll leave campus if there is an outbreak. Something that is never followed up on on the odd occasion that it happens. My kids all went there, long enough to graduate (i.e. 4+ years), without ever giving any vaccine info. They all had their immunizations, but records were out of state, so just easier to sign waiver than to track them down.

Fortunately, I don't have kids there any more.

Is that true? The faculty really wanted virtual learning again?
Many of them were lazy fricks before Covid. They’re basically earning free money with online “learning” because they didn’t do shite.

Good. Before I went there I had to take a tuberculosis shot. I just went to the health unit, took the shot and life went on.

Because they are trying to stop the spread of a virus?

Right? I thought I got a vaccine for Tb.

But seriously, I just don't understand the big deal.

People can sit here and talk about this age group and that age group, but if it continues to spread it will evolve.. Like what we see with the delta variant. That's the only way to get a handle on it.

And with some of the crazy shite I've heard as to why people don't want to take the vaccine, I just can't take people against the vaccine serious.

I mentioned this on here the other day, but I have a cousin who isn't getting the vaccine because people at work told him that everyone who has taken the vaccine will die within 5 years of taking it.

This is just all crazy to me. I know people are going to believe whatever they are going to believe and there is no way to change their mind, but you don't just hear one reason why people are not taking it.. Some people think they are going to have a microchip put in them, for some its political (many who are Trump supporters.. And he was one of the first people to take the god damn thing).

correct. and science tells us those variants will be weaker and weaker and weaker.

you don’t have too. it’s none of your fricking business.

again. that’s none of your fricking business. he’s taking his own health into his own hands. much like some of our posters mowing down cheeseburgers every other day, not going to the dentist ever, never working out, drinking, smoking, etc

Stop watching the news. Read the CDC data. Talk to your doctor. For the young and healthy, it isn’t necessarily necessary. Stop acting like we will or should be 100% vaccinated. Wouldn’t matter if we even did because your President is allowing thousands of immigrants flood our borders every month. Are they vaccinated? frick no.

just plain ignorant.

look at the vaccine rates by ethnicity? all Trump supporters ehh?
