so we made it to the moon

The flight hardware is on an Intuitive Machines (IM) mission, scheduled to launch on a SpaceX platform. Likely summer. The LSU part is done, it's delays from launch partners etc.

Sounds like Jacob and Haley are the ones actually building the damn thing.

Both made significant contributions to the system integration of the hardware.

Are we "going to the moon" or are we actually going to the moon?

LSU's hardware - custom design and integration and approach - will be going to the moon.

I need this patch

It is an LSU trademark so in theory you can order sweatshirts hats etc. I've seen stickers.

Katie (Art student) designed the logo as part of a senior art competition class as LSU was permitted to name the mission and design the mission patch. Her design won, and LSU trademarked it.

The OP says it was going to be on IM-1. Isn't that the one that just landed on the moon yesterday

We, no. As cool as this is

It wasn't needed in the 60s. They are measuring the radiation through space to the moon. Pretty much an admission that man has never been.

It wasn't needed for those brief missions and it was worth the risk anyway due to the race to beat the soviets.

For a moon base, astronauts would be up there a LOT longer
quote:

According to NASA, the standard radiation dose for a person on Earth is about 0.0036 Sv/ year (0.36 rad). The Apollo astronauts received an average radiation dose on the skin of 0.38 rad — equivalent to two head CT scans. Overall, Apollo 14 received the skin dose of 1.14 rad, which was the highest. All this during missions not longer than 12 days.

The daily radiation dose on the surface of the Moon could be substantially higher during a longer mission, and it is impossible to quantify from Earth.

It was originally scheduled for IM-1. It is now going on IM-2.

And getting hit from every direction. It's not like you are inside of a CAT scan.

Chyeah, right.

I guess I may as well scoop Larry Leo (sorry Larry) by announcing I'll leading TD's 1st expedition team to go to da moon (getting crowded up there).

In the past year LSU has gone to the moon, won two national titles, hoisted the heisman trophy, and won a 160 million dollar grant from the national science foundation. The university has been killing it academically and athletically.

The OT: LSU is nothing but woke liberals, my kid will never attend. He’s going to weld school!

Wise decision. Solid trade. (Trades are dependable in the foreseeable future -- working well even in any bartering economy, which I easily see)

For all LSU's rich history, student status, traditions and accomplishments, all its accreditation -- including the athletic scene -- is now tainted by woke illusion, delusion, greed and fraud. (not unlike most high profile US Universities.)

Ok…not to be critical, but who designed that logo?! It’s absolutely turrible. The little rocket & moon is straight outta clip art. Super cheesy

So no official report from anybody yet??

But...but... We saw the the Odysseus lander's super high tech, bullet-proof Terrain Relative Navigation camera aboard! It must surely have recorded and documented this entire historic landing descent, right?

Afterall, we all witnessed the wild employee celebration -- they considered it a "successful mission", right?
