Freshman in 2009

Tuition was around 2500 a semester. TOPS covered it all I believe.

I want to say "tuition" was around $2,500-$3,000, all of the fees were around $500-$700, and then books were about $400-600 a semester. Meal plan was around $1,200, dorm/apartments were about $3,000 a semester.

Current tuition is about 4K and fees roughly 2k

If it’s only 6k LSU is probably the cheapest school in the SEC

Just wrote a check today for $9500 at Ms State.

That does have a dorm room but that is for 1 semester

Actually it would be a good bit more but there are some good scholarship money (and we are out of state)

It was over 3000 when I started in 2008. Got around 4000 when I finished in 2013.

Similar. LSU dorms are 4Kish (don’t include meal plan)

I have no idea what the tuition was, but after TOPS my fee bill was maybe $500 at most in the early mid 2000s.

You paid out of state and likely $3k for the dorm and I assume there's a meal plan on there as well so it's right in line with LSU, or probably cheaper

Pretty sure with TOPS it was free tuition and then you got a cash stipend of $600 or $800 depending upon your level of TOPS

It was free tuition for the average La school cost. If you went to LSU you had to pay a little extra.

I was there 05-09 with full TOPS and I feel like I only paid for books. I’d have to ask my parents.

LSU, if you live on campus without a meal plan will cost you over 10K/semester right now

$4,009.30 - Tuition
$245.00 - Academic Excellence Fee
$48.00 - Building Use Fee
$4,425.00 - Residential Housing
$80.00 - Operational Fee
$639.70 - Required Activity Fees
$10.00 - Registration Fee
$857.00 - Student Excellence Fee
$60.00 - Technology Fee

$10,374.00 - Total

One of my children is a senior there now.

Yep and the previous child graduated last december after 9 semester. So I feel like LSU should know my name at this point

Some of these schools it wasn’t the tuition that was the problem then. It was all the fees and book prices.

Does anyone recall what tuition was during this time span with TOPS?

I know they had different levels of TOPS, I want to say I was paying like ~$600 a semester in tuition...does that sound accurate?

If you had TOPS during that time span you weren’t paying tuition. TOPS covered 100% of tuition plus certain fees, with an extra stipend on top of that if you qualified for it.

All of that said, a $600/semester fee bill during that time period seems like it’s probably in the ballpark assuming you were living off-campus, and depending on what stipend level you had.

It's about $2000 a semester for tuition or my son. My daughter (no pics) was a good bit less because she had top of the TOPS.
