LSU student from Addis almost in finals of American Idol

This LSU kid John Foster sounds like he came up singing with Garth Brooks et al back in the 90s. He did come up serving food in his family’s Cajun restaurant. I’ve been loosely following online. Watched the American Idol episode last night. He’s really good. Competition is stiff. He advanced from 7 people to 5 yesterday. Today the have another episode to determine the top 3.
We can vote for him by texting American Idol and I think on their website. Would be cool to see an LSU kid win it all.

I probably graduated with his parents. I remember being in high school and they did. fundraiser for the Benoit meat market kids because the store burnt down or did damage. Maybe it was their house.

Glad you posted this. I don’t listen to much country, but he’s very talented & he’s a Tiger so I’ve been voting for him every week. It’s the first time I’ve ever watched more than an episode of the show. The crowd goes nuts for him, only a matter of time before they break out with LSU chant. Wish he would Tiger Bait Ryan Seacrest…

They were at the LSU Baseball game yesterday. The Benoit's meat market people(I think his aunt and uncle?) They came in through the LF gate where we tailgate. They had "Vote for Foster" signs to show on TV crowd shots. Really nice people.

He’s decent at best but won’t even have Laine Hardy success and that dude absolutely sucked.

Been voting since the start. From Addis and a throwback country artist. His George Strait cover was amazing. Goes to LSU too. Let's get him to the top 3.
