To add to the stupidity:

"Priority consideration for student tickets this year will be given to those students who have had a COVID-19 test completed and reported to the university any time after Aug. 15, 2020. "

So if they didn't have it a month ago, they're good.

Y'all seem to think its about keeping those at the game safe... this is about pushing more ppl to get tested NOW in order to stop outbreaks from happening in Tigerland, res halls, and private parties prior to the season beginning.

I don't know how recent the test must be in order to get priority

No one is under the impression that it's about either of those things.

It's about neither. It obviously has nothing to do with "keeping people safe" in the stadium, as their August 15th negative is good for the Dec. 5th game ticket.

It's also not about pushing people to get tested "to stop outbreaks", because the deadline for getting tickets is today at 5pm. No way someone can rush out and get their negative reported to LSU in time to be a priority. This was announced 3 days ago.

This is a PR stunt, most likely requested by the governor-who-should-be-recalled (one of many, I know), to put up testing. However, that can easily backfire and get BR under the 5% positivity. Unfortunately, Broom probably wouldn't "opt in" to letting bars open anyway.

Believe what you want but my (very well placed sources) say there has been an effort on campus to get more ppl tested and this idea had been circulating for weeks prior to becoming public.

LSU is trending in the right direction is nearing 0 weekly cases

Negative tests statewide are a GREAT THING and will help us boost attendance at games

LSU COVID Numbers

Time Frame Positive Cases
9/14 - 9/15 14
9/11 - 9/13 50
9/9 - 9/10 31
9/7 - 9/8 82
9/4 - 9/6 102
9/2 - 9/3 123
8/30 - 9/1 137
8/25 - 8/29 182
8/15 - 8/24 47

Students pay a fee each semester to be admitted to every LSU game.

Football is the only sport that limits the number of tickets issued for obvious space purposes

You all need to separate LSU's response to COVID from what the rest of state leaders have done to ruin things.

LSU helped push the SEC into keeping FB this year

LSU has taken precautions while also maintaining some semblance of normalcy compared to what other campuses are doing.

Everyone on campus has done their part to slow this COVID train down and are to be commended. They were dealt a tough hand and have played it very well so far.

As shown in the numbers, LSU experienced a minor bump and didn't shutdown.

I applaud the leadership for their handling of COVID

The thing none of the retards on this board who espouse such nonsense can explain is what incentive JBE, or anyone else for that matter, has for “pumping up the numbers”

The joke is on LSU. Students are getting tested off campus to keep the LSU numbers down. Many students are planning to watch the games at off-campus parties that will possibly become super spreader events.

The board of supervisors experienced some turnover over the last year. The current board will make a decision on the hiring plan for the president coming up in December. The current job requires him to be president and chancellor. They are going to separate those two positions again. The president is in charge of the entire LSU system. The chancellor is in charge of the Baton Rouge campus

LSU is working hard to get everyone tested so that any assymptomatic ppl can be quarantined without infecting others

So people attending it who aren’t students can’t possibly have it? Somewhat of a double standard here.

Drove through campus yesterday and saw the coeds all wearing masks. Occurred to me that the mask requirement is a wonderful thing for all the butterfaces out there.

It’s kinda white privilege, no?

I mean, aren’t whites less likely to contract Covid? Weren’t we told the blacks get The COVID at a racially disproportionate rate?

This sounds like a scheme by the administration to have a predominantly white stadium.

LSU admin is raciss.

Not true at all. The line in front the Union has been at least 50 deep at all times during the day since the email was sent out. Students want to be at the game and are getting tested.
