My son is a freshman at LSU. Since school started, there is a troubling trend of teachers canceling classes, sometimes last minute. They simply post the classwork online for the students to complete. Is this the new way since Covid? What the hell am I paying for here?

You paid for it. Nobody ever questions universities or protests against their costs.

Right after Katrina I had a professor who was putting her house back together, meeting with contractors, etc. and showed up to like 3 classes the entire semester. Broke down crying on exam day when she had no exam to give us. Told us all to send her an email with what we thought our grade should be for that semester.

Sounds like the instructors are disorganized and/or lazy.

Why are YOU paying for it? Stop babying your child and let them pay and learn some character and responsibility.

Professors did this 30 years ago when I was in school.

Is that what we're calling getting too drunk to go to your morning classes nowadays?

Not really answering your question but I taught a class at another university that I was woefully unqualified to teach, I actually felt bad for the students although I tried.

Sure makes paying for a dorm worth it doesn't it? Could do all this from home just as easy

Had a statistics professor whose dad passed away the first day of the semester and he broke down crying and ended class early almost every day when he actually showed up

‘Twas awkward
