wonder what this professor said in class??

------------------------------------------------------------------------
BATON ROUGE - An LSU law school professor in trouble for political comments made during class, and his attorney says it’s a violation of his First Amendment rights. Professor Ken Levy is being investigated by the university, and for the time being, he’s out of the classroom.

The semester just started at LSU’s law school, and in a classroom of about 82 students, Levy was teaching a class about police and public interactions. His attorney Jill Craft says students took issue with his comments in the confines of teaching the First Amendment.

Craft says a student recorded the lecture and Levy’s now been removed for making political comments, though what those comments were is unclear

So did he go on a Leftist rant or interrupt a Leftist rant? One way or another, I’m sure a Woke Leftist moral panic rant was involved.

Soy lords engage downvote mechanism now.

1) It's LSU. And while the professors may be woke, most of the students (at least the locals) are still conservative. They wouldn't complain about a professor making conservative comments.
2) Landry is Governor, and the President of the University is appointed by him. If LSU removed him for saying something positive about Trump, you'll hear Landry talking about it on the news.

Levy, a criminal law professor who began teaching at LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2009, also talked to students about major changes to Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendment case law that may lie ahead due to changing dynamics at the U.S. Supreme Court, Craft said. In that context, he revealed he was a Democrat and referred to President Donald Trump “in some colorful terms,” she said.

First amendment rights? What? So a professor, as an employee of LSU, can just say anything and be protected from being fired? That doesn't sound right.

I heard he told the students that if they voted for Trump they "can go frick themselves" or something along those lines.

If he is teaching the first amendment correctly, i would say what he said was probably true and hurt feelings.

Or

He is anti Trump and wants more censorship

Yeah, I'd like to hear more context about what he said. If it really was some speech about the first amendment, he may have a case.

Recording lectures used to be prohibited at the law center. Don't know if it still is, but back in the day suspected recording of a lecture would have led to immediate disciplinary action.

Just look at his LSU Profile. Don't think that was the case.

First amendment rights do not extend to suffering consequences from exercising them.

I can publicly spout anything about my employer. That is my right. If my employer deems my speaking to be detrimental to their mission, they can fire me. That is their right.
