The reason I understand how most of you morons don’t hold a position of power is when you get upset about these type of hires.

Forcing to hire an applicant based on race is counterproductive in many ways. It’s forces others to pretend and be nice to the hired person. And if this person does a poor job, you can’t terminate then out of fear of the race card. So he walks around with protection knowing he can’t be fired but deep down he knows it’s charity. People around him can smile and pretend everything is all peachy but there’s resentment behind the facades. This is amplified as the position is more and prestigious. It’s dishonest all around.

Just make something up. That’s what seems to be the theme on this board.

Tate seems okay. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise.

He should create a new position called the VP of Tactics.

So the guy hired someone he knew and trusted and we’re supposed to be angry? I’m not sure I understand…

Maybe, but it's not like he is just some dude Tate has known his whole life and who left his job as a manager at outback to take this position. They worked together for a little over a year. Maybe he's just really good at his job. His military history and prior posts in academia seem legit. Maybe all those positions were acquired through nepotism?

LSU has needed a shakeup for awhile
Richardson out at ag center
They could save so much money on waste in that department

I didn’t like the Tate hire as much as the next guy around here. Typical JBE bull shite how he just appeared in the finalist list when he wasnt on the original list.

But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt before I shite in him. Hell, I was actually surprised he didn’t mandate the vaccine.

This guy may be very good at his job, but unless Tate eliminated some of the other completely useless positions to free up the money to pay for this new position, I’ll be against it. Academia is already bloated and full of completely useless employees that provide nothing to the university. It’s incredible how financially irresponsible universities have become.

Is LSU losing money? Does this hire put it into a downward spiral of financial ruin?

You never lose money when you're funded by taxpayers. That's the beauty of it.

And alienate 3/4 of the black students on campus.

There was ZERO chance of a mandatory vaccine on campus.

To give credit where it seems to be due, the hire looks to be solid on the surface. Time will tell, but I don’t get the push back based on what has been presented.

What does any of that have to do with his ability to curate a peaceful and open culture at a university that doesn't promote the poisonous idea from CRT that everyone white is born racist and oppressive?

Just because he's a war hero doesn't mean everything he says is good or correct. What has he done since then? If he's like this Tate guy then he's a horrible hire.
