Since none of you actually read the link... one of the first things they are quoted saying is that they want to study it further for potential treatment interventions.

It’s not. It’s just that people don’t want to hear anything negative about the virus because they are concerned that politicians will use it to extend shutdowns, enact more restrictions, etc.
It’s a little silly IMO. This is a research letter published in a scientific journal. That’s what pathologists do - they study diseases and they publish their findings. Scientific research shouldn’t just stop because of politics. Blame the politicians, not the scientists.

Because they found viral infection in the cells of the smaller blood vessels surround the heart and the resulting cytokine storm from the infection may have caused unexpected damage. At least that is what Im gathering but Im not a doctor.

This was a poor attempt to get everyone to stop buying all the masks so they could be used for medical purposes. We knew then it was bullshite. This could have been avoided if production would have been addressed in January/February instead of March.
Also, scientific conclusions do change over time as data is made available and things get studied. 4 months ago little was known about this virus so people were throwing shite at the wall to see what sticks. All you can/should do is operate on the best and most recent information available. Concluding that masks are bad today b/c some people said to not to wear them back in February & March, sounds like you are grasping at straws to make an argument.

I'm guessing that you think that science only deals in 100% certainties and that they shouldn't advise caution until they have absolute conclusions.

It's amazing some of y'all can walk and talk at the same time.
Let's pretend I'm a pathologist. I routinely see hearts of people with high blood pressure, obesity, and diabetes. I know what those hearts look like. I then look at a heart of someone who has those conditions plus covid. That heart looks different from all the rest I've seen. I don't know why they look different, but I can pretty reasonably conclude that covid is doing something else to these hearts that high blood pressure or diabetes typically don't do.
That's all this letter is saying. It's not saying shut it down. It's not saying wear a mask. It's not saying orange man bad. It's just reporting scientific findings.
