This.

They want the Frats in the house so when things like this happen it's not out in the open for the world to see.

I didn't really care for when we had tailgates on the parade grounds, or anywhere in general. I liked hanging around the house before a game, but then I'd walk and meet up with other friends and then eventually hung out at my girlfriend's (now wife) tailgate. Too many people at the frat tailgate even when it was my own frat. It worked at the house, but not so well when all together.

That's the dumbest reasoning I've heard if that's true. Like there aren't going to be 40 people videoing the same thing just because it's in a house?

Brilliant idea to put all the frats together with alcohol. That was inviting a fight.

And LSU figures out a way to get their cut from tailgating.

I can almost guarantee you they have a list of approved vendors...you know, for kickback purposes.

Greek Affairs considers the ATO Lot the Teke Lot, so that house can take advantage and cordon that whole lot for tailgating.....on the Lake.

$25MM lawsuit says otherwise

Not really

If that kid's parents get more than $1mill from the university then that tells me the allegations were true, and the school did look the way while hazing was going on.

In which case, the fault lies with LSU, not the entire greek system.

Well they are and are currently being sued for 25 million dollars by Gruver's family for his wrongful death. This is the only reason LSU cares about hazing because it has the potential to be a huge liability. For what it is worth I agree with the concept of hazing, but not the shite they did to kill that kid.

At what point does a group of guys and their dates become a party, especially before a game? Folks hanging out in their place of residence along with some friends...is that going to require a security guard?

The first time I can remember a guard being required, our octogenarian guard went outside the house to take a piss. He fell in the dark and hurt himself. He got on the radio and sent out an “officer down” call. The party was swarmed with police and it was shut down within minutes. Yay!

You realize you responded to a post stating that LSU would be willing to give the greeks more leeway if they weren't such a liability?

You just made his point. The school isn't going to keep "looking the other way" if doing so gets them sued.

Newsflash: those sorority girls don't want you to try to talk to them.

I can die trying. i will always try to date and marry one.

But doesnt this increase more liability? more stuff will go down in the houses. it will be worse.
