The only thing I remember about freshman orientation is registering for classes and an assembly in the union where they taught us the words to Hey Fightin' Tigers.

Freshman orientation was a pat on the head when you walked out of the Assembly Center after pulling your computer cards for your Fall schedule.

My favorite is the foam party and the bus trip to Target for school supplies.

Also, an Avengers watch party from the lazy river.

Can’t imagine the losers participating in this shite.

Well aren’t you too cool for school...

Well found the breakdown. Plan only works if you execute it properly. We were supposed to drive up and be unloaded with carts and then go park and they’d bring the stuff to room. No unloaders and no carts, it is a fricking mess. Got her situated, now time to enjoy empty nest.

Congrats on your Daughter in school. And a word of advice, I would eat lunch with each of my girls once a week just to make sure things were going ok.

I would eat out your daughters once a week. Things were okay.

LSU Welcome Week

Required for all freshmen, except those going through rush, playing sports or in the band. (Due to those activities also taking place the same week)

you are shitting me

0% chance I would've done any of that shite. people that work in higher education are truly delusional, no new student wants to do that shite

It’s been a while

Are all freshman required to live in a dorm their first year or just the first semester?

What are the exceptions? What if you live in Baton Rouge already and live with a relative are parents?

when i was a freshman at LSU, it wasn't required. now it is, unless your parents live within 50mi or something.

Do you have to move in today?

Why can’t you just do it Sunday night and miss the rush?

As I recall, many years ago, not one single person helped me move into my dorms. I put my stuff in the car and moved myself.

Yeah. My parents came once. In my freshman year they came with me to move into Graham. Never again after that. It also wasn’t a complete cluster frick either. We just parked my car in a normal lot in front of the dorm and moved shite inside

My welcome week was spent going to tiger bar and Reggie’s along with house parties.

ok what is a lawnmower parent? a helicopter parent afraid of heights?

Helicopter parents fly over...but still from a distance.

Lawnmower parents hover so close. Like a lawnmower blade over the grass.

I just got home from moving my daughter into her dorm at UF. We were supposed to move in from 10-11. We got there at 10:05. It took 1.5 minutes to get her key and another 1.5 minutes to get a dolly. It then took about 35-40 minutes to haul all of her stuff up to the room.

Her and my wife spent about an hour putting sheets on, straightening, shuffling, and getting stuff just right. We then went to Chuy's, and had lunch. It was pretty good. Traffic was way heavier than I like to tolerate, and I drive on I-4 every day.

Your definition is different than mine. Lawnmower parents knock down barriers for their kids so that their kids don’t have to incur difficulty.
