The $200 we spent to move into Miller a day early was the best money I’ve ever spent. No line yesterday, paid movers met us at the car, and all done by 10:30 AM.

Thousands of students are moving in at one time. Instead of one day for everyone, why not do a whole week and open certain dorms for move in on certain days?

Both my daughters (no pics) did year one in Miller some years back. Remember there were a ton of people and I gave up on using the elevators (5 and 6th floors) but I don't remember there being a big line to get there or anything....I wonder what's changed?

This is easily the best option!

Early move in is an option for Miller so girls who are rushing can get settled before it starts. LSU Residential Life sent an email about it sometime in June after dorm assignments were confirmed.

We bailed out after moving about 500 ft in 90 mins.

Will go back this afternoon.

Leave it to F(uc)King and his band of idiots to turn the first day of these kids' college experience into a clusterfrick.

Not for nothing, but A&M has an amazing engineering school. I am all for a dig on A&M, but making fun of their engineering program is a tough sell.

There's no requirement to be there for 9am.
Smart people show up tomorrow after all the sheep are done.

Taking the family to move-in a kid into college is akin to the over crowding at Disney with all the strollers & scooters. There's just too many morons.

If your kid can't move a few bags & their egg-crate cushion on their own then they aren't ready for college.

Congrats on your Daughter in school. And a word of advice, I would eat lunch with each of my girls once a week just to make sure things were going ok.

I would eat out your daughters once a week. Things were okay.
