What a scam. they look worse now

I'm sure the goal was just to line some pockets and not actually make them look any better.

Our state senator, Franklin Foil, was giving out progress updates on his social media….until it went off the rails, and then he never spoke about it again.
Are they done yet?

should we at least wait until the project is finished before passing judgment?

and the same group/engineer is going to redesign City Park golf course. What could go wrong?

There’s a huge island full of trees in the middle of the lake near to Lod Cook / Sorority Row
I see them baws just driving around on barges doing nothing most of the time when I’m hiding in the bushes

I hope you weren't expecting Louisianastan to actually do a publicly funded project correctly.

did you even see how may fricking trees they pulled out of the lakes? There were piles multiple stories high that were shredded and re stacked, multiple times.
So from that aspect..... a lot of good was done.

fill the whole thing in and the golf course project is solved
plenty of room for everyone
Gordon can add some pickleball courts
about the only thing different is the new bridge that will allow the water to flow through that has closed that street for awhile now

They don’t look good, but they are better now than when the one by Miller Dorm was silting up. The big lake by the golf course was pond scum.
I’m not satisfied, but I’m optimistic they will come around. Three or so years ago it was pitiful.

Baton Rouge looks like complete shite. Almost as bad as Shreveport on the drive through I-20.

I've always said that they should do this, make it 18 holes, and the 10th hole could be a drive over the interstate.

I’ve always said that 100 years ago they should have built a great 18 hole course originating at the present location and using property across Dalrymple West to include parts of the “Bottoms”.

I think it'll end up being WAY better than it was before they started this.
It was disgusting.

For 60 million dollars it better look better!
The length of 60 million 1$ bills is 357.7 miles. At about 4 miles, you could circle the lakes in 1$ bills almost 100 times.
But don't worry, May Street will be closed again for another football season
P.S. they still need another 20 mil to finish it

My biggest issue with this project has been the duration of May Street being closed.

Shocking discovery: shallow water on top of mud looks like nasty muddy water.

We need a study on why the study failed.

The "lakes" are a swamp. They were a swamp for thousands of years before a bunch of dumbasses decided to dig holes in the swamp as part of a back to work program in the 1930s.
Guess what? The swamp wanted to be a swamp again, so it silted in and another bunch of dumbasses dredged them out in the 80s.
Guess what? That damned swamp wanted to keep swamping, so it silted in again until a new bunch of dumbasses spent uphill of $60M to dredge the swamp again and pull out a bunch of dead trees.
Crazy idea: Let the damned swamp be a swamp. Make it a big wetlands restoration project and get federal money to make it the best gotdamn swamp in Louisiana. Whatever.
But stop digging holes in the damned swamp and expecting to end up with Lake Ontario.
