I joined the alumni association at the graduation fair last year. They are using signed memorabilia to get you to donate. I agreed to donate $15 a month and received a signed honey badger #7 Jersey.

LSU Alumni Association is run by geriatrics who don't know what the frick they're doing.

You want better alumni money? Get a new alumni association.

anyone that uses this as a reason to not donate probably doesn't have enough to be donating anyways. People need to learn the difference between a school budget and a privately funded thing such as the students voting on the lazy river.

It is the same crowd that whines how can we pay 15 million to fire Les while being broke. People would do well to learn about budgets and how they work.

I graduated almost 10 years ago from the business school, and didn't even know what the lsu foundation was. I didn't have any close family that went to LSU, and family was not rich by any means.

I got contacted a few years after graduating by the college of business, so i considered giving but did not. I am more established in my career, so donated a small amount this year.

There are probably a lot out there like me who didn't even know what the LSU foundation was. People hear of TAF because football is so popular here, but i think the academic side could do a better job either marketing or explaining the importance at a grassroots level to get people invested in the future of their school.

LSU should be pushing harder for schools like SUNO to be chopped instead of having King scream bankruptcy.

I think Jindal botched this pretty bad when he had the chance to force a change so we could get things besides education. Now that he messed that up King needs to make LSU a leaner school.

I'm all for pairing down some of the useless degrees and pushing their funds over to the degrees that are good degrees.

I don't think the shaming the alums into donating is going to turn into more dollars. I would think showing that you can make good tough decisions and make the school better would help with getting more funding. Also King cutting the miles thing down wont help his situation.

LSU has been publicly embarrassed by the bankruptcy thing, the stupid lazy river shite which is bad journalism, and now the coaching search. I don't see many alums willing to donate because then that would somehow signal King is doing a good job.

Agreed. Hell my high school multiple zip codes away is better at contacting me for money several times a year and I've been out of there longer. I've heard from Voyiadjis' mouth first person (engineering prof) the reason of not having contact info as an excuse as to why LSU doesn't ask...if a HS can do it, a college can do it.

Second, agreed that if LSU can't effectively do small, yet highly Important things like pull off a non-crappy commercial that is the biggest representation of the school on a national scale, then why should I trust they would effectively use my dough?

Third, Charlie Roberts eliminated any chance of me giving to LSU AA.

Fourth, if anyone can improve giving its Moret.
